Crystal Rock Campground, Sandusky, Ohio

The campground was conveniently located to Cedar Point Amusement Park, Lake Erie Islands & ferry boats, & beach areas, and several other attractions.

The new ownership is friendly and willing to assist; they are making updates to in-camp road lighting, landscaping, and camp community. They are bringing camping into the millennium with wifi access & a public computer available to check travel plans & email in the office.

They had fire rings & picnic tables at campsites, hot showers in two different locations, camp store, playground for the kids, pool table, sand volleyball, horseshoes, laundry facilities, shelter house with grills, water and electric hook-up sites available, some cabins, and a nightly community bonfire near the office. Tent check-in was available as early as 10am!

Though we went Memorial Day weekend, it was not jam-packed and overbooked like the state parks and other nearby places. The price was affordable-- less than other similar, local places. For more information, visit their website- http://www.crystalrock-campground.com/

We liked it and are planning to join our Chicago camping friends there again next year... a new tradition.
